This gorgeous al fresco Scottish wedding in Tuscany has taken our breath away!

CheChic Weddings planned a stunning garden wedding under a elegant white canopy complete with twinkling lights, delicate peach and white florals and fruity accents. You’ll catch yourself getting all swept up in the family-style dinner with wine from Italy and whisky from Scotland, and the incredible Scottish bagpiper all captured by Katie Grant. This destination wedding is truly unforgettable!

From the wedding planner, CheChic WeddingsThis Scottish/English wedding is the type of pretty that goes straight to your head. An elegant Scottish affair set in Tuscany complete with custom kilts and a Scottish bagpiper! This wedding truly has our heart…The location. The wedding dress. The flowers. The golden Tuscan light.

The couple wanted to spend a weekend with friends in a stunning setting, and this Borgo exceeded all the expectations. A pizza party in the small square lighted the weekend that ended with the most perfect Sunday brunch. The climax took place on Saturday, the wedding day. Starting with the most romantic ceremony in the property garden, perfectly accompanied by a typical bagpiper. Jenna was superb in her dress, in long lace’s sleeve, perfect for the Tuscan October breeze. The bouquet was a total white fairytale, majestically assembled by Janna Brown. Safe to say: her style is quiet unique. “Our amazing florist, Janna, created something magic for our special day, hard to forget”

After the ceremony, once the church bells started to play, everyone followed the bagpiper into the dirt road to the most beautiful garden with the best view on Tuscan hills. Delicious Italian food was served on a long imperial wood tables, fulfilled by flowers in delicate peach and white nuances. A soft linen table runner with natural hues ran down the centre of the imperial table, which was decorated with gold candlesticks, ivory candles, gorgeous flowers, fruits and even some small mushrooms. Together with the fairy lights, the setting was like a dream made real. The night couldn’t end better: a sparkles’ tunnel, music, dance and fun, fun, fun!

From the bride: My husband is Scottish and I’m half-Scottish, half-Italian, so we decided to have the wedding in Italy—for the beautiful food and scenery and weather—with Scottish elements throughout the day, such as a bagpiper procession, thistles in the florals, and lots of malt whiskey.

We visited three or four venues, but the Borgo Lucignanello was by far the most characterful. We wanted it to be as home-made and local as possible—the wine was from Tuscany,  the whiskey was from the Scottish highlands, our family were the musicians, my brother did my hair, I did the stationery, the olive branches were from the Borgo—and it was the perfect collusion of Italy and Scotland, with lots of drinking and dancing under the stars. One of the most exciting parts of the day was working with an absolute powerhouse of a team—CheChic! Wedddings, Katie Grant as photographer, Janna Brown on floral design and Ben Walton as videographer. I feel so lucky to have worked with such talents to create and capture it all.

We love this Scottish wedding in Tuscany that beautifully blends the two cultures into one fantastic affair. Italy has the most stunning landscapes and incredible food making it the perfect destination wedding location.
